Olesia Levytska

– versatile music manager from Lviv

Olesia was raised by music. Her parents and the whole family are musicians and work at the local music academy. Before the war, huge jazz events took place in Lviv (Jazz Bez, Leopolis Jazz Festival), and as a student, Olesia volunteered there. It was a great opportunity to meet great musicians and see "The Kitchen" at a massive festival.

In 2022, Olesia joined the team of Dzyga Art Center. Now she holds the role of PR manager and manager for international cooperation

Dzyga Art Center, founded in 1993 in Lviv, Ukraine, is a vibrant cultural hub that blends contemporary art, music, theater, literature, and more. Its name, derived from a traditional Ukrainian spinning toy, symbolizes resilience and creativity. Dzyga houses a contemporary art gallery, concert venue, gift shop, and restaurant, supporting diverse genres of artistic expression.

Dzyga is known for organizing major festivals like “Week of Actual Art”, “Jazz Bez”, “Days of Art Performance in Lviv”, and “Weathercocks of Lviv”. The center also organizes weekly events such as literature nights, jam sessions, jazz concerts, and dance classes, fostering a dynamic arts community.

We hold on because we are spinning!

Olesia is the music manager of Opera Avangard stage band

Opera Avangard is a jazz fusion quintet from Lviv, Ukraine, known for its innovative blend of jazz, funk, and Ukrainian folk motifs. The band’s unique sound is shaped by a diverse array of musical influences, from legendary jazz icons like Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny to the funk innovations of Yussef Dayes and the energetic rhythms of Casiopea.

Opera Avangard was born on the streets of Lviv. Guitarist, bassist and keyboardist were once street musicians, performing on the bustling avenues of their city. One fateful day, drummer Danya Bilous joined them for an impromptu jam session, and the chemistry was immediate.

In addition to their musical pursuits, the band has made a significant impact through their charity efforts. They have organized over 30 performances to support Ukraine's defense forces during the ongoing war, showing their unwavering commitment not only to music but to their country.

“With sound, we try to unite the listeners, even in such difficult times”
